Bellow you will find useful research based information on the antiviral and antibacterial benefits of FLAVOZID. These scientific materials are published in foreign and domestic scientific journals and reports. The science based recommendations are taken from the publications of various scientific and educational institutions and public health organizations of several foreign countries.
According to the conclusions in a 2007 article in the publication of the Ukranian Scientific Research Institute of Family Medicine(Authors: O.N. Pilipenko, A.A. Zheleznaya, YA.YU. Borisova, T,I. Holodnyak, S.A. Doroshenko), FLAVOZID, as part of a complex rehabilitation program, has shown great effectiveness in the immune enhancement therapy in women suffering from miscarriages. FLAVOZID was used along with traditional antibacterial therapy. Etiological curing level from urogenital Chlamydia infection has been reached by 42.5% of women who recieved monotherapy by antibiotics; 83.9% of women were cured when they took antibiotics together with Levamgol. 97.2% were cured when they were treated with antibiotics and FLAVOZID. All the women treated with FLAVOZID were able to conceive, and their pregnancies concluded without perinatal losses.
FLAVOZID IN INFLAMMATORY DISEASE THERAPY
In the results of scientific work published by the Institute of Urology of The Academy of Medical Sciences of the Ukraine (authors:O.V. Romachenko, MD, A.V. Rudenko, MD, S.L. Rybalko, MD, N.P. Zalevich, MD, N.YA. Spivak, MD, L.A. Lebid, MD, L.F. Yakovenko, MD) it is noted that the interferonogenic and apoptosis modulating ability of FLAVOZID has a vital importance in affecting the mechanisms of the human defense system’s antiviral and antibacterial activity. FLAVOZID can be used in the treatment of inflammatory disease of the genitals of viral-bacterial etiology. In their work, the scientists also noted that the use of FLAVOZID in the complex therapy of the inflammatory diseases of the genitals, conditioned by mixed infections, is pathogenecally motivated and differs by greater clinical, microbiological and immunological efficiency in comparison with traditional methods of the treatment of a given pathology.
FLAVOZID USE DURING PREGNANCY
The Ukrainian scientist, from Ivano-Frankovsk Medical Academy, O.N.Ostrovskaya, MD in her scientific article in the journal “Woman Reproductive Health” (2002, # 11) concludes that clinical studies show no poisonous action of FLAVOZID therapy when taken during the six months of the experiment. According to the toxicity level criteria LD-50, FLAVOZID has classified as 4th class toxicity level ( more than 20,000 mg/kg). According to Dr. Ostrovskaya, FLAVOZID does not have toxic cumulative characteristics, allergenic, carcinogenic, embryotoxic or teratogenic effects.
FLAVOZID IN HEPATITIS THERAPY
The Group of the authors ( Matyash, MD, I.A. Bobrova, MD, V.B Shevchyuk, MD, T.L.Tolkunova, MD, S.L. Rybalko, MD, V.P. Atamanyuk, MD) from the L.V. Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of The Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine came to the following conclusion: “In hepatitis C virus and hepatitis B virus etiopathogenetic therapy FLAVOZID has a positive influence on the reconstruction of the functional condition of the damaged liver and its homeostatic functions (detoxication, excretion, protein synthesis). FLAVOZID also determines the regression of clinical syndromes of the disease (cholestatic, cytolytic, dyspeptic, asthenic). The complex therapeutic action of FLAVOZID on biological processes counteracts the chronic disease progress and the development of signs of fibrosis in the liver.”

FLAVOZID: STORAGE CONDITIONS AND EXPIRATION:
FLAVOZID should be protected from light. Keep away from children. Store in dry place at 59°F - 77°F. Shake well before usage. Do not use if allergic to herbs. Do not use after expiration date. Use within 30 days after purchase. The expiration date is three years from the date of manufacture.
FLAVOZID ANTIVIRAL ACTIONS are based on the suppression of viruses-specific enzymes like thymidine kinase and DNA-polymerase in the virus infected cells. It reduces or fully blocks viral protein replication and, as a result, it prevents the reproduction of viruses.
FLAVOZID IMMUNOCORRECTIVE ACTION based on its ability to increase the production of endogenous alpha- and gamma-interferons, as determined by the physiology and genetics of the individuals. FLAVOZID raises the hetero-specific resistance of the body. It accelerates apoptosis in the infected cells. It also promotes a faster elimination of affected cells from the body. FLAVOZID has a beneficial systemic influence on organism. FLAVOZID normalizes the process of neural excitation and inhibition in the central nervous system and raises mental capacity and the ability to work. FLAVOZID is a good antioxidant. It raises cell and tissue resistance to free-radical stress. FLAVOZID has detoxification properties. It partially inactivates alcohol and its aldehyde, narcotic agents, endogenous ammonia and ammonia inclusive substances.
FLAVOZID AND IMPERFECTIONS OF MODERN ANTIBIOTICS
In the 2007 scientific article the group of scientists ( Academicians of The Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Professors V.N.Serov, MD and I.I.Baranov, MD) indicated that “the efficiency of antibiotics eventually diminishes because microorganisms acquire resistance to antibiotics. Moreover these antibiotic-resistant viruses can cause a disease in other people, and this resistance is easily transmitted from one microorganism to another. And, eventually, this can lead to the emergence of viruses that are resistant to all available antibiotics. After the euphoria of 1970s-80s - when it seemed that a victory over infections had been reached - it became obvious that the available antibiotics were losing their efficiency. Therefore, recent years have been characterized by the creation of a new generation of antiviral and antibacterial preparations”.
FLAVOZID AND INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF THE MALE SEX ORGANS
The scientist, Y.N. Gurzhenko, MD from the Division of Sexopathology and Andrology of The Institute of Urology of The Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, in his scientific work about the use of FLAVOZID in the treatment of the inflammatory diseases of male sex organs concluded that: “ FLAVOZID, as part of a complex therapy in the treatment of inflammatory disease of male sexual organs, accelerates the onset of remission. The clinical efficiency of the use of FLAVOZID is 89.6%; the immunological efficiency - from 82.4% up to 94.4%. The efficiency of the therapeutic effect of FLAVOZID depends on the long-term use of the preparation. The minimally efficient treatment duration is two months. FLAVOZID is a safe, well tolerated preparation that does not have side effects. The current reported scientific results allow us to recommend the herbal preparation FLAVOZID for prophylaxis and complex patho-genetic treatment in men who suffer from nflammatory diseases of the sexual organs.”
FLAVOZID AND THE TREATMENT OF SULFUR RESISTANT SYPHILIS
According to the conclusion of the scientific article “Live Issues Of The Rational Immunocorrecting Of Patients With Sulfur Resistant Syphilis” published by Dermato-Venerology Department of The Lugansk State Medical University and The Lugansk Regional Sexually Transmitted Disease Health Center (Ukraine), “To a greater degree an increase of the level of the pro-inflammatory cytokines ( which provide antiviral and antibacterial immunity) was observed when medication Pirogenal and FLAVOZID were used together. Comparable changes in the cytokinetic profiles of the patients from group II and group III proves the viability of FLAVOZID use in the complex therapy of patients with sulfur resistant syphilis. Flavozid, in particular, can be used by pregnant women, since the majority of synthetic immune-modulators during pregnancy is contra-indicative.”
FLAVOZID AND THE TREATMENT OF INTRACELLULAR INFECTIONS IN CHILDREN
Scientists from The Zaporozhsky Medical Academy Of Post Diploma Education (L.S.Ovcharenko, MD, A.A.Vertegel, MD, T.G.Andriyenko, MD, L.V.Len, MD) came to the following conclusions: “FLAVOZID has a significant and expressed antimicrobial and antiviral effects with regard to intracellular harmful microorganisms (cytomegalovirus, Chlamydia). This allows us to recommend FLAVOZID for use in the treatment program of children with both acute and chronic pathologies”. “The dynamics of immunologic factors during the treatment are indicative of the anti-inflammatory effects of FLAVOZID as a result of the reduction of the infectious antigenic load.” “The repeated course of treatment of the resistant forms of viruses in 1.5 - 2 months results in normalization of the laboratory tests’ results in 100% of cases.” “Inclusion of FLAVOZID in the treatment program of children with chronic intracellular infectious pathology is expedient”.
FLAVOZID USE IN THE TREATMENT/THERAPY OF PATIENTS WITH ADENOVIRUS KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS
Scientists from Lugansk Medical University (A.M. Petrunya,MD, Valid Zaal Taamrah, MD) together with specialists from Lugansk Regional Center of Ophthalmology and Eye Diseases came to the following conclusion: “The use of FLAVOZID in the complex therapy of patients with adenovirus keratoconjuctivitis promotes accelerated reconvalescentia (recovery). It also promotes reduced frequency in the development of consistent cornea dimness and reduces manifestations of inflammation of the eye. FLAVOZID is recommended as an addition to the pathogenetic therapy of patients with AKC”.
FLAVOZID USE IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH INFLUENZA
Scientists from The Kiev Medical Academy of Post Diploma Education and The Lugansk State Medical University ( A.F. Frolov, MD, V.M. Frolov, MD, Y. G. Pustovoy, MD) in their scientific work concluded: “As a result of clinical observations and laboratory studies, FLAVOZID was determined to be an efficient anti-inflammatory preparation in the treatment of the flu. The optimal results were received by administering FLAVOZID in the first hours of the disease onset. Apparently, FLAVOZID acts as an inductor of endogenous interferon. The absence of undesirable side effects and its availability suggests the inclusion of FLAVOZID in the complex therapy of influenza”.
FLAVOZID USE IN COMPLEX CHRONIC HEPATITIS B THERAPY IN CHILDREN
The scientists (T.A.Kryuchko, MD and I.N.Nesina, MD) from The Ukraine Medical Academy (Poltava City) in their scientific report have the following findings: “1. In the group of children, who were taking FLAVOZID in the complex therapy of the chronic hepatitis B, the following phenomena were observed: the regression of the clinical symptoms, the normalization of the biochemical factors, the reduction of the inflammatory phenomena in the parenchyma, recovery of the physiological structure of the liver in shorter periods of time in comparison with the children from the control group. 2. The children in languid phase of chronic hepatitis B, where positive dynamics of the clinical symptoms are slow, should receive repeated outpatient treatments with FLAVOZID a month after hospital treatment. 3. The positive results allow us to recommend a wider use of FLAVOZID in the treatment of children with the chronic hepatitis B according to the following course: 4 drops in an hour after a meal for two months, then 7 drops in an hour after a meal for two months.”
FLAVOZID USE IN THE THERAPY OF INFLAMMATORY GENITAL DISEASES OF A BACTERIAL – VIRAL ETIOLOGY
The report from The Ukranian Scientific Research Institute of Andrology and Sexopathology reviles the following: “The interferon-producing and apoptosis-modulating ability of the herbal preparation FLAVOZID has a vital role to play in the mechanisms of antiviral and antibacterial efficiency, and we think it should be a widely used in the treatment of inflammatory genital diseases of a bacterial – viral etiology.
This will seriously improve the qualitative factors in the efficiency of traditional treatment methods.”
FLAVOZID USE IN THE TREATMENT/THERAPY OF HERPES-VIRAL INFECTIONS
Scientists from The Department of Infectious Diseases of The Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry ( A.V.Sundukov, MD, M.A.Golubev, MD and Dermatologist from The Medical Center of The Ministry of The Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation, Y.Y. Yevdokimov, MD) in their report (2008) about the clinical tests of FLAVOZID concluded: “…Thereby, the gathered experience on FLAVOZID usage in the therapy of herpes-viral infections demonstrates high efficiency of this herbal preparation. The low cost and good tolerability of FLAVOZID allows us to recommend it for the therapy as a preparation of the first line. FLAVOZID has shown high efficiency in the therapy of genital herpes, herpes zoster and herpes simplex. FLAVOZID was well tolerated by the patients, and allergic reactions were not observed. Manifestations such as headache, diarrhea, stomach ache and nausea were very seldom detected, and they did not require medical intervention. FLAVOZID is a high-performance antiviral remedy.
When FLAVOZID is used the frequency of genital herpes recurrence is significantly decreased ( 8.2 - 8.4 times), and the periods between recurrences are increased 2 – 2.5 times. The high clinical efficiency of FLAVOZID was revealed in the therapy of herpes zoster. FLAVOZID caused less side effects than antiviral drug Acyclovir. The combination of FLAVOZID and Acyclovir has shown the best efficiency and can be recommended for use in the heavy forms of herpes zoster. FLAVOZID in patients with herpes zoster brought to normalization the basic indicators of cellular immunity and reinforced the production of interferon. The high efficiency of FLAVOZID was shown in the reduced recurrences of herpes simplex which is comparable with acyclovir. FLAVOZID has shown high efficiency in the external therapy of warts and vulgar impetigo. The duration of the disease was decreased, and there were significantly fewer registered recurrences of the disease. The high efficiency of FLAVOZID was revealed in treating infectious mononucleosis. It was seen in the normalization of the blood factors, quick regression of the disease process and speedy reduction of the lymphatic nodes to normal sizes.”
FLAVOZID USE IN THE TREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH ACUTE RESPIRATORY VIRAL INFECTION ACCOMPANIED WITH DEVELOPING OBSTRUCTIVE SYNDROME
In the 2008 report of The Ukraine National Medical University by A.A. Bogomolets (Professor A.P Volosovets, MD), is noted: “FLAVOZID is an efficient remedy with a general antiviral and immuno-modulating effect when used in the treatment of children with acute respiratory viral infection accompanied with the development of OS, and it is recommended for use in the complex treatment in age-factored doses for three month durations. FLAVOZID has a high clinical efficiency (85.7% of children) and moderate clinical efficiency (14.3%) in the treatment of the aforementioned pathology. An improvement of the clinical condition of patients is observed when they use FLAVOZID: reliable reduction of the duration of the intoxicating syndrome, reduced fever, hastened disappearance of lymphadenopathy. When FLAVOZID is used by children, positive effects are observed in blood tests, such as normalization of leukocytes, lymphocytes and monocytes. Faster disappearance of the atypical ononuclears in the dynamics of the disease was observed as well as reliably increasing factors of the cellular and humoral part of the immune system. In serological HSV 1-2 infection study FLAVOZID promotes the reduction of the IgG and IgM level in the blood. FLAVOZID is safe in the treatment of children with acute respiratory viral infection accompanied with the development of the OS. During the whole time of using FLAVOZID by children neither side effects nor poor tolerability of the preparation was revealed”.
FLAVOZID USE IN THE TREATMENT OF THE GENITAL HERPES
As noted in the 2009 report of the Russian Scientists from The St. Petersburg The Pasteur Experimental Medical Research Institute (Professor V.A.Isakov, MD and Academician of The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences):“In the present study a high clinical efficiency of FLAVOZID was shown in the treatment of the recurrences of genital herpes (GH). The frequency of the recurrences of the GH decreased 7.5 times, and were clinically easier to treat. In 32% of the cases the recurrences did not occur for a year. The average factors of the duration of the non-recurrence period increased 2.8 times.
Besides the clinical efficiency of FLAVOZID, the positive dynamics of the immunological factors were noted: the ability of the endogenous interferon synthesis and the cytotoxic lymphocyte and NK-cell activity were restored, which promoted the prolongation of the therapeutic effect of FLAVOZID. The side effects and allergic reactions were not noticed during FLAVOZID treatment. The moderate cost, good tolerability of this herbal preparation along with its clinical-immunological efficiency affords the grounds for recommending FLAVOZID for the treatment in the recurrences of genital herpes.”
